Preschool

Age group: 2 ½ years to 4 ½ years

Class times: Monday, Wednesday and/or Thursday from 9am to 11:30am

Maximum class size: 24 children

Teacher/adult to child ratio: typically 1:6 taking into account duty parent & student teacher (if applicable)

Flexible programming accommodates different developmental stages with a focus on:

• Socialization
• Pre-reading and pre-math skills
• Creative, imaginative, cognitive and motor skills

Children in diapers are welcome in the Preschool program, and teachers support toilet training efforts.

Fees:

• $120/month* (2 mornings/week) + $50 registration fee
• $170/month* (3 mornings/week) + $50 registration fee

* Because the Metcalfe Cooperative Nursery School is a not-for-profit organization, a portion of tuition fees is eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

Toddler

Age group: 18 months to 2 ½ years

Class time: Tuesdays from 9am to 11am and Friday 9am - 11am (with minimal enrollment)

Maximum class size: 8 toddlers

Teacher to child ratio: 1:4 (maximum)

Programming is based on developmentally appropriate activities with a focus on:

• Encouraging independence
• Exploring their environment
• Developing language
• Individual goals

Children in diapers are welcome in the Toddler program, and teachers support toilet training efforts.

Fees:

• $85/month* (1 morning/week) + $50 registration fee

Kindercamp

The Metcalfe Cooperative Nursery School’s KinderCamp is a summer camp program for children ages 2 ½ to 6. Children participate in a variety of activities including outdoor and indoor creative play, crafts, science activities and games. KinderCamp provides quality care for your child in a safe and stimulating environment. KinderCamp is all about summertime fun!

Extended Child Care

Extended child care is available before and after the regularly-scheduled school day (from 8:30 to 9:00 and from 11:30 to 12:00). Arrangements must be made in advance by speaking with the Director, and a fee of $3 per half hour is payable to the Director in advance.
