The Metcalfe Cooperative Nursery School (MCNS) is great place for kids to enjoy their first preschool experiences. We are a non-profit, registered charity licensed by the Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Located just south of Ottawa in the beautiful village of Metcalfe, we are proud to have been providing quality early years programs since 1979.

Our teachers provide a wonderful combination of fun, caring and learning. They are highly qualified early childhood educators and special needs facilitators with over 35 years of combined experience.

Our school is committed to providing a nurturing, developmentally appropriate, inclusive learning environment for young children within a cooperative framework that involves families, teachers and the community.  Children move freely between defined activity centres within our completely renovated nursery school space including: Sand & Water Play, Play Dough Table, Crafts, Painting, Dress-Up, Manipulative Games, Large Motor Equipment. Daily programming also includes Snack Time, Story & Music Circle and Outdoor Play.

Our goal is to help your child grow socially, physically, and intellectually and to provide the building blocks needed to nurture a confident, independent child with healthy self-esteem.
